I’ve been spinning quite a lot lately and have filled four bobbins, so it’s time to ply. I’m still a bit hesitant in my plying — I know I just need to dive in there.
I’ve also been crocheting in the evenings before bed and have completed the purple round of my granny afghan. Hopefully, tonight I’ll get them all positioned and can start sewing them on.
My sister and I use to giggle at my mom because it took her seven years to complete her beautiful wool afgan — we never stopped to think that she was also taking care of two kids, a husband, a dog and multiple cats, two elderly parents, sewing constantly for us and working part-time during those seven years. All we thought was “geeze mom, aren’t you done with that yet?!?!!?” Now I think “geeze mom, how in the world did you do all that at once?!?!?!” A few years of life have put a bit of perspective on it all. Momma’s afghan was what inspired me to make one for myself, and you know what? It is probably going to take me seven years to complete mine as well (I think I’m into year 2)! Poetic justice has come my way (yet again)!
