“Betsy” Felted Bucket Hat

I’ve just finished my “Betsy” Felted Bucket Hat by Adrienne Thomas. I used my own hand dyed yarn in subtle shades of blue and periwinkle and needles size US#9. It took approximately 225 yds and the pattern is one size, so I felted it to fit my own hat size.

Above is my hat before felting . . .

while blocking and drying (a 8″ plate is inserted at the crown to help the shaping) . . .

and Voila! Finis!!

(oh, my, this last picture has such bad color — I’ll try and get another one taken to replace it soon!)

I enjoyed your blog. The bucket hat is great.
I do hats that are wet-felted-by-hand (the kind you felt from tufts of wool, rather than yarn).
